Financial Advisors: Where To Make The Real Money
What is a high net worth investor? I can share with you who isnt: me!
However, by definition, a high net worth investor is anyone who's personal net worth is more than $5million. Not surprisingly, this is one of the fastest growing client types in North America which provides some amazing opportunities for many companies who are willing to provide veryhigh levels of service. This typically entails a lot of hand holding, often though, the compensation is normally well worth it. If you provide financial services and want to target this demographic, you should focus as much on your relationship with this type of client as the type of investments you'll seek for them.
This literally means that if your client is out of milk, you're prepared to be conveniently on your way passed their house, and would be happy to pick some up, or at least a member of your staff. These types of high net worth clients are looking for you to take care of their needs. They know that their portfolio can help to make or break a career like yours, so be prepared to jump through a few hoops.
The types of investments of course, will depend on the total value of the clients portfolio. A client with just over $5 million could expect to receive a "cookie cutter" type of portfolio, whereas someone with $10 million could expect to see a custom tailored portfolio.
One added benefit of securing a high net worth client is that once they trust you, other lucrative financial services such as tax preparation, tax planning and estate services could end up in your lap. Its all about the service. Provide a better service, and watch your own personal net worth move higher.
